Comfort Kits Needed for Disaster Victims

The American Red Cross gives Comfort Kits to adults and children who are victims of a disaster such as a house fire, flood, or hurricane. These kits provide "comfort" to those who have just lost everything by giving them the items necessary for personal hygiene. The children's version also contains a small stuffed animal. Groups interested in assembling the kits for distribution in
addition to donating items are encouraged to do so. (Gallon-size zip lock bags work well for packaging Comfort Kit items for distribution.)

Get involved with Red Cross Youth Programs Today!

The Red Cross has a proud history of commitment to youth. Young people have demonstrated their value to the organization throughout its history. They represent both our future and the here and now.  Youth engaged in Red Cross Services and Programs are experiencing first hand the humanitarian values the Red Cross exemplifies. 
We are currently seeking youth volunteers interested and available to participate in active leadership roles:
Basic involvement will include Planning, Leading, Organizing, and Coordination of programs targeting youth development, involvement, and service to the community as Red Cross volunteers. No experience required. Will train.  Meetings are held the 4th Wednesday of each month at 4:30 p.m. at the Red Cross office, 79 East Pomfret Street, Carlisle. If you are interested in becoming a Red Cross Youth Volunteer or a member of the 1st Cumberland County American Red Cross Youth Council (ages 13 - 18 - high school) or (ages 18 to 20 - college youth advisors) call Sherrie at 243-5213 ext 30 or Nikki at ext 23

Thank you Dickinson Men's Lacrosse Team, Coach Dave Webster & the other Dickinson College students who participated in the 4th Annual 24 Hour Volleyball Marathon to Benefit Cumberland Co Red Cross .  They played through heavy rain and wind to raise over $5,000 for our Red Cross and we really appreciate their support and dedication!!!! They have raised over $20,000 for Cumberland County American Red Cross in the past 4 years!
